Nancy Sahms Detter, 76, passed away January 17, 2017 at Regency Hospital in Greenville, SC.
She was born April 29, 1940, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Marvin Sahms and Julia Drew Sahms.
Left to cherish her memories are her companion, Wesley Pendleton; children Charles and Rhoda Detter of Gastonia, Linda and Barry Clayton of Blacksburg, SC, David and Ruby Detter of Kings Mountain, Robin Hardison of Gastonia; brothers Charles W. Sahms Sr., Willie D. Sahms; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd William Detter; children Floyd James Detter, Linda Darlene Detter and Debra Daine Detter; sister Brenda Stiles and brothers Marvin Sahms Jr., and Randell E. Sahms.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Gene Ware, will be held 2 pm Friday, January 20, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Receiving of friends and family will be held 6 – 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
