Nancy Darlene Costner

Dallas, NC Nancy Darlene Costner, age 64, passed away January 28, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. She was born September 27, 1948, daughter of the late Tyree and Edith Hudson Mitchum. Mrs. Costner was a loving, attentive listener, to her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved life, enjoyed cooking, especially, as her family stated, "the best dessert's" and flower gardening. Nancy and her husband loved traveling, especially enjoyed taking cruises. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Roger Overton. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia. She is survived by: her loving husband of 48 years, Walter D. Costner Sr. of the home; sons and daughter in-law, Walter D. Costner and Dominique of Gastonia; daughter and son in-law, Allison and Blair Burrell of Gastonia; brother and sister in-law, Foye and Barbara Mitchum of Gastonia; sister and brother in-law, Shirley and Bob Thompson of AZ; grandchildren, Sarah and Lilly Costner, Kiersten Burrell.
