Mitchell Fipps

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mitchell Fipps, who left us on June 30, 2026, at the age of 63, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

Mitchell enjoyed Ham Radios, computers and computer games. He loved riding his motorcycle. He worked at Midway Fire Department in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

Born on September 18, 1962, in Columbus County, NC, Mitchell was a proud member of the Gastonia community and a dedicated firefighter, known for his bravery and commitment to serving others.

Mitchell will be deeply missed by his loving mother and stepfather, Elwanda & Jimmy Smith, his sisters, Robin Cox, Anita Truesdale, Wanda Sarah Powell, his caring aunt, Belinda Cribb, nieces and nephews, Christopher Fipps, Kayla Denea Lee, Virginia Nichole Powell, Daphne Nicole Truesdale, Thomas Justin Truesdale, great-nieces and great-nephews, Samantha Lee, Sophia Lee, Dylan Lee, Peyton Fipps, Kalianna Fipps. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his family and friends, ready with a smile and a helping hand.
