Mitchell David Cobb

Mitchell David Cobb, 73, of Kings Mountain, passed away on May 16, 2016, at White Oak Manor.

He was born February 20, 1943, in Cleveland County, son of the late Charlie Cobb and Eula Mae Oliver Cobb.

Mr. Cobb was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. He was also a member of the King Solomon Lodge # 704 in Gastonia and as well as a member of the Gaston Oasis Shrine Club. Mitchell served as a Waste Water Treatment Operator for JP Stevens and the town of Cramerton. Once he retired, Mitchell taught welding classes at Kings Mountain High School and Cleveland Community College.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday May 20, 2016, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1017 Bethlehem Road, Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Steve Taylor.

The family will receive friends 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.

Mr. Cobb is survived by daughters, Tammy Godwin and husband, George, Jody Ghorley and husband, Todd, Stacy Barber and husband, Brian, Samantha Farmer and husband, Jason; brother, Douglas Cobb; sisters, Mary Helen Sisk, Freida Cobb;grandchildren, Paul Wentz III, Cassie Grellman, Cayla Long, Bailey Richardson, Abbigail Barber, Gracie Farmer, A.J. Farmer, Hunter Farmer, Christian Godwin, Mason Farmer, Malachi Farmer; and great – grandchild, Trever Long.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann McDaniel Cobb; brothers, Buddy and Michael Cobb.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of Cleveland County 951 Wendover Heights Drive Shelby, NC 28150 or the Parkinson's Association of the Carolinas 5970 Fairview Road Suite 217 Charlotte, NC 28210.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
