Minnie Louise Canipe

Minnie Louise Starnes Canipe, 81, of Kings Mountain, passed away January 29, 2017 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

A Gaston County native, she was born January 27, 1936, daughter of the late Joe and Mary Starnes.

Mrs. Canipe was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lydia Fite and Margie Moses; brothers, Roy and Mack Starnes; and her great-grandchild, Braxton Panther.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of over 67 years, Wray Canipe of the home; daughter, Judy Phillips and husband Coy of Kings Mountain; son, Mike Canipe and wife Penny of Shelby; brothers, Don Starnes and wife Barbara, Bobby Starnes and wife Jane, all of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastors Ron Caulder and James Hamrick, will be held 2 pm Tuesday at Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
