Mildred Jerline Smith

Mildred Jerline Smith, 85, of Kings Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born May 12, 1938, in Maysville, Georgia, daughter of the late Newt William Veal and Lucille Jacks Veal.

Mildred loved her family so much and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had worked with her husband at Smith Auto Sales and worked at Homelite and Food Lion as well.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.

Mildred is survived by her loving sons, Stan Smith and wife Trissia, Steve Smith and wife Donna, Gary Smith and wife Donna and Jerry Smith; grandchildren, Brandi Maples and husband Matt, Brittany Smith,  Stephanie Smith, Allen Smith and wife Sarah, Brian Smith and wife Jennifer, Darrell Bean; great-grandchildren, Chase Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Elizabeth Maples, Asher Maples, Skylar Smith, Madison Bean, David Bean, Isabella Bean, Charles Smith, Benjamin Smith, Levi Smith.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Smith; brothers, Paul Veal, Jack "Spud" Veal; sisters, Doris Savage, Francis Austin.

Arrangements are with Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
