Gastonia, NC Mildred Jewel Ledford, 89, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 28, 2013, at Gaston Manor, Gastonia. She was born January 27, 1924 in Ducktown, Polk County,TN, daughter of the late Elmer Ira and Edith Minnie Melhorn Ledford. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Saturday at the funeal home, officiated by Pastor Doug Baltzegar. The interment will follow the service at Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia. She is survived by: her children, Patricia Ann Ledford Bingham and husband Roger Dale Bingham of Crowder's Mountain, Sarah Francis Ledford Neal and husband, Steven Manzy "Jack" Neal of Dallas, Brenda Joyce Ledford Adair of Blacksburg, SC, Barry Lee Ledford of Gastonia; brothers, Fritz Wilson Ledford of MO, John Marcus Ledford Sr. of Gastonia, Dennis Ira Ledford of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Robin Bingham Johnson of Stephenson, VA, Tammy Darlene Hodge Adams of Gastonia, Donnie Ray Hodge Jr. "Chuck" of Belmont, Terry Lamar Adair of Blacksburg, SC; great grandchildren, Nathan Dale Huffstetler, Charles Anthony Huffstetler, sons of Robin Bingham Johnson and Charles L. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman Edward Ledford; sons, Herman James Ledford, Eugene Edward Ledford and her infant son; her brother, Franklin Delano Ledford.
