Mildred "Mickie" Ferguson Moore

Mildred "Mickie" Ferguson Moore, 88, of Gastonia, passed away June 22, 2014 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte. She was born a native of Gaston County, April 3, 1926, daughter of the late Zebb Edward and Myrtle Ferguson. She was a self-employed beautician and an avid gardener who retired from Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. A memorial service will be held 3 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Mike Crisswell. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. Mickie is survived by: daughter, Gail King Lane and husband, Ron of York, SC; brothers, Blaine E. Ferguson of Gastonia, James E. Ferguson and wife Eddie of Dallas; sister-in-law, Orpha Ferguson of Charlotte; grandchildren, Doug Long and wife Bethe of Gastonia, Chad W. Lyles of York, SC, Brad Lyles and wife, Gina of Lowell, Nichole "Colie" Long Armstrong and husband, Rick of Murrells Inlet, SC, Joshua Stroud of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Long of Gastonia, Chad D. Lyles of Gastonia, Brian K. Frisbee and wife, Katie of Gastonia, Bobby Frisbee of Gastonia, Joey Lyles of Gastonia, Ariel Lyles of Myrtle Beach, SC, Seth Lyles of Gastonia, Trevor and Auren Stroud of Gastonia; great-great grandchildren, Brody Frisbee and Braylen Lyles of Gastonia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Blaire Ferguson of Charlotte; sister, Thelma Rhyne of Gastonia; son, John "Robin" King of York, SC; husbands, John D. King and Jewell P. Moore; daughter, Cippie King Stafford and great-granddaughter, Alexandra Megan Lyles. Memorials may be sent to Gaston Co.
