Mildred Kathleen Evatt Harrington

Mildred Kathleen Evatt Harrington, 89, of Gastonia, passed away December 11, 2020 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.

She was born October 5, 1931 to the late Pat Evatt and Metta Elrod Evatt.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harrington; son, Steven Harrington; daughter, Patricia Kayler; brothers, Allan Evatt and Wilburn Evatt; and sister, Ernestine Childers.

Mildred loved to travel with her Christian Senior Group at Sandy Plains Baptist Church.  She was a hard worker and was dedicated to her family.  Mildred loved to garden and work in her yard.

Survivors of Mildred include her sons, Greg Harrington and wife Kathy and Jeff Harrington and wife Denise; a sister, Hazel Roberts; grandchildren, Anna and Sarah Harrington, Marissa, Rachel, and Michael Harrington; a great-grandson, Gabriel Harrington who she adored and raised as her son; and a son-in-law, Joey Kayler.

A funeral service will be held at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 5:00 pm with Pastor Mike Rice officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A private interment will be held by the family at Gaston Memorial Park.
