Michael Mcdaniel

Michael McDaniel, 74, of Gastonia, NC, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 28, 2022, at Atrium Cleveland.  He was born November 3, 1947, in Gaston County, NC and was the son of the late Henry and Christine Bentley McDaniel.

The life of Michael was one of faithful service in all that he did, from his long- term membership of twenty-eight years at Beech Avenue Baptist Church, to his forty-four years of work at FMC Lithium.  Michael loved his Duke Blue Devils basketball team.  Above all, he was faithful to what God placed on his heart for the care of his family and friends.  A man of God who will be so, so missed.

Michael is survived by his wife Kathy Taylor McDaniel; sons, Tom Murphy, Robert McDaniel (Tricia), David McDaniel (Wanda) and Chris Onstad (Tracy); daughter, Lida LeeAnn Groves (Shane); brother, Gary McDaniel (Olivia); grandchildren, Jamie Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Kylie McDaniel, Hannah McDaniel, David R. McDaniel, Heather Fuller, Nathan Groves, Cole Groves and Kasie Lynch; great grandchildren, K J Lynch and Levi Fuller.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 pm at Beech Avenue Baptist Church 1206 Ashton Ave. Gastonia, with Pastor Jeff Cook officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
