Michael Hunter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael McLean Hunter Jr., who left this world on November 11, 2025, at the age of 50. Born on February 17, 1975, in North Carolina, Mike spent his life in Gastonia, where he made countless memories and touched the lives of many.

Mike was a jack of all trades. He loved playing his guitar and had a knack for working on cars. He dedicated part of his life to the textile industry, with a notable stint at Phar Yarns, where he was known for his problem-solving skills as a fixer.

He is survived by his loving father, Michael Hunter, Sr.; his beloved daughter, Hannah Hunter; and his proud son, Blake Hunter. Mike also leaves behind his brother, James Hunter; sisters, Tammy Hunter, Christina Graham, and Shirley Ann Sherrill; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Alannah Hunter and Kynzleigh Strother.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Graham, who he loved dearly.

Mike will be remembered for his passion, his kind heart, and the joy he brought to those around him.
