Michael Ray Hardin

Michael Ray Hardin, 66, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 15. 2026 at Atrium in Shelby, NC.

He was born in Cherokee County, NC, to the late T.C. and Jeanette Hardin.

Michael was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas, NC. He worked in construction for 45 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always willing to help others. He especially loved his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Jessie Owensby Hardin; son, Christopher Collett (Katie); daughter's, Erma Collett, Crystal Truett (Joey); sister, Brenda Gibby (Bill); eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews, Ben & Tim Gibby; several great- nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-nephew; special friend, Larry Pennell.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Brian Spargo, Pastor Cecil Spry and Pastor Jimmy Carver, will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, 3:00 PM, at Independent Baptist Tabernacle, 2128 Dallas Cherryville Hwy., Dallas, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
