Michael Clifton Greene Sr.

Michael Clifton Greene Sr., 67, of Gastonia, passed away February 21, 2016 at Peak Resources in Gastonia.

He was born October 26, 1948, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Robert Banks Greene and Margaret Slagle Greene.

Michael was a US Army veteran, who served during the Vietnam War.  He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Michael Greene Jr.; daughters Sherry Greene and Jeannie Wright and husband Wayne; grandchildren Kristen Summitt, Kole Spiker, Joshua Wright, Alec Greene and K'La Leonhardt; brothers, Ricky and Dale Greene and sister Pam Moses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Theresa Greene; sisters Terry and Cathy Greene and grandson, Hunter Greene.

A celebration of life service will be held 3 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastors Jimmy Wright and Paul Brintley.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
