Michael Shane Falls

Michael Shane Falls, 52, of Gastonia, passed away on February 24, 2026.

Born on January 2, 1974, in Gaston County, Michael was a lifelong resident of the community he proudly called home. He was a self-employed business owner and took great pride in the accomplishments he achieved throughout his life. Michael was especially proud of teaching his son valuable life lessons and watching the man his son became.

A jack of all trades and a master of none, Michael had a curious mind and hands willing to tackle any challenge. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, riding his Harley, and simply relaxing and hanging out with his close family and friends. He loved animals, especially his "big boy tank," which brought him great joy. Michael's love for life and the happiness he found in these simple pleasures were reflected in the warmth and laughter he shared with everyone around him.

Michael is survived by his mother, Cathy Thompson; his son, Michael G. Falls; his brothers, Richard Falls (Leslie) and David Falls (Dana); his beloved grandchildren, Gavin, Greyson, and Ellie; his special lady, Alyson McCall; as well as several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His family and friends were the center of his world, and he took great pride in being a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his biological father, Richard Russell, and his stepfather, Steve Thompson, whom he loved with all his heart.

Michael leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and treasured memories that will be held close by all who knew him. Though his passing leaves a profound void, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the family will notify close family and friends.
