Michael Robert Bone

Michael Robert Bone, 31, of Bessemer City, passed away October 6, 2014 at his home. He was born September 16, 1983 in Fort Belvoir, VA. He was the son of Oliver (Gene) Bone of the home and the late Deborah Jean Bone. Michael was an Army Veteran serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was currently a member of the Army National Guard in Boone, NC. He was a member Whetstone Lodge# 515 in Bessemer City and was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Survivors are sons, Patrick Bone and Aiden Bone; daughter, Keely Bone; father, Oliver (Gene) Bone all of the home; brother, Oliver Eugene Bone Jr. of Laurel, MD; maternal grandmother, Delilah C. Ryan of Laurel, MD; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Helen Bone of Bessemer City; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18 at Concord United Methodist Church, 2404 Tryon Courthouse Road Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. Cindy Spicer. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the US Army National Guard and Gaston County Honor Guard. Masonic Rites will be provided by Whetstone Lodge #515 of Bessemer City. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Concord United Methodist Church 2404 Tryon Courthouse Road Bessemer City, NC 28016 Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
