Merle Bryant Costner

Dallas, NC Merle Bryant Costner, 99, passed away July 12, 2013, at The Robin Johnson House. She was born July 14, 1913 in Banks County, GA, daughter of the late Henry Cleveland Bryant and Barbara Reems Bryant. Merle loved to work in the garden and fishing. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, NC. A funeral service will be held 3:30 pm on Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, officiated by Rev. Jonathan Schnibben. The family will receive friends Sunday, 2:00 - 3:30 pm prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at the church cemetery following the service. Mrs. Costner is survived by: her daughters, Becky C. Rogers and her companion, Kenneth Edwards of Salisbury, Jill C. Stillwell and her husband, W.W. "Peewee" Dallas; brother, Travis Bryant of Gastonia; sister, Aileen Bolynn of Gastonia; grandchildren, Lori, Kim and Todd; great grandchild, Ecco. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, F.C. "Joe" Costner; daughter, Gail; grandson, Scott; brothers, H.C. and Harry; sisters, Gladys McClure, Estelle Willis, Wertie Lee Hoover, Edna Smith.
