Melvin "Frank" "Poteat"

Melvin "Frank" "Poteat", 59, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, in Clover, SC.

He was born July 18,1962, a native of Gaston Co., son of Betty Hoffman Poteat, and the late Frank Henry Poteat.

Melvin was a master electrician for Recore Electrical, Bessemer City, NC. He was a gifted tinker of things, a very simple man, who enjoyed simple things. Melvin loved his children, grandchildren, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He had a ticket to attend his granddaughter, Skylar Poteats, high school graduation on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was very excited and proud to attend.

In addition to his mother, Melvin is survived by his sons, Chris Poteat and Casey Poteat; daughter, Lacie Harris (Josh); sisters, Marsha Rimmer (Steve) and Wanda Nalley; and grandchildren, Jaxen Harris, Skylar Poteat, Logan Poteat, Nathan Poteat, and Jacob Poteat; and close friend, Debbie Barnes.

A celebration of life will be held 4:00-8:00pm, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Four Lane Drive – 1239 N. Main St., Clover, SC 29710.
