Melvin Leroy Miles

Melvin Leroy Miles, 70, of Gastonia, passed away on August 27, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born December 21, 1942 in Gaston County son of the late William Edward Miles and Grace Williams Miles. Mr. Miles was a member of Eighth Street Church of God, Bessemer City. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Eighth Street Church of God, 906 South Eighth St., Bessemer City officiated by Pastor Ronnie Pendleton. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mr. Miles is survived by: his loving wife of 25 years, Joyce Richardson Miles; sons Jimmy Miles and wife Lisa, Scottie Miles and wife Jerrie, Mike Reep and wife Dorcas; daughter, Tammy Auten and husband Jason ; stepsons, Robbie Tallent, Rodney Tallent, Davy Tallent and wife Vanessa, Jason Tallent and wife Beckey; brothers, Charlie Miles, Ronnie Miles; sisters, Oletta Detter, Genee Owens, Doris Maltba, Patricia Clewis, Carol Crane; twenty- four grandchildren; twenty - six great grandchildren.
