Melody Coins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melody Carol Coins, who left us on January 12, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on January 7, 1958, in Gastonia, NC, Melody spent her life surrounded by love and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Melody was a dedicated interpreter in the hearing-impaired community, bringing her warmth and understanding to those in need. Her passion for communication knew no bounds. Beyond her career, she cherished her time with family and delved eagerly into the world of books, often found with her nose buried in a novel.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Coins; son, Mark "Chip" Coins (Amber Croft); daughter, Lisbeth Eller; grandson, Alex Eller; granddaughters, Zoey Coins, Lillian Coins, Caroline Coins, Genevieve Coins; brothers, Jeffery Rogers, Matthew Roger, and Jody Rogers; sisters, Mona King and Angela Elliott, all who stood by her side through thick and thin.

Melody was preceded in death by mother, Genevieve Rogers; brother, Chris Rogers, Mark Rogers, and James Rogers; grandson, Mark "CJ" Coins.

Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Melody's life on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel. The visitation will begin at 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
