Maxine Burleson Carpenter

Maxine Burleson Carpenter, 78, of Gastonia, passed away on January 23, 2022 at her home.

She was born March 10, 1943 in Avery County, NC to Lorene Burleson and the late Earl Jason Burleson.

Maxine was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Gastonia.  She was a native of Spruce Pine, NC.  She loved to trout fish, attend yard sales, and go to the beach.

In addition to her father, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Carpenter; two brothers, Ricky and Sonny Burleson; and a sister, Shirley Crowder.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Sherry Cox and husband, Matt; two brothers, Randy Burleson and Robbie Burleson; a granddaughter, Courtney Huggins and husband, Josh; and one great-grandchild, Bellamy Huggins.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mount Holly, NC.  Anyone who would like to attend is welcome.
