**Obituary for Mattie Elizabeth Tidwell**

With joyous hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Mattie Elizabeth Tidwell, who left this world peacefully on April 10, 2025. Born on December 6, 1932, in North Carolina, Mattie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Mattie was a beloved mother, deeply rooted in her role as a caregiver and nurturer. She is survived by her son, Joseph Wyatt, and daughter-in-law, Carrie Wyatt; her son, Garland Wyatt, and daughter-in-law, Theresa Wyatt; Grandchildren Brittany Chestnut, Elliott Looper, Erica, Lindsey, and Todd Rowland, and Nine Great Grandchildren and her dear cousin, Michelle Kitchen. Each of them carries forward her spirit and values, ensuring her legacy will continue to illuminate their lives.

Mattie dedicated her career to food service within the hospital industry, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and generous heart. Her commitment to helping others is something that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Mattie's life will be held at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052, on April 14, 2025. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a heartfelt funeral service at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are warmly invited to share in the remembrances and stories that made Mattie's life so uniquely special.

After the service, Mattie will be laid to rest at Morris family cemetery in Stanley, NC, a place dear to her heart. Though we mourn her passing, we invite all who knew Mattie to come together to honor her remarkable journey, relive cherished memories, and celebrate a life well-lived.

In our hearts forever, we will carry the joy and laughter she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Mattie. You will be dearly missed, yet joyfully remembered.
