Matthew Evans

Matthew "Matt" Evans, age 24, of Gastonia, passed away June 13, 2012. He was born August 3, 1987 in Gaston County. Matt loved his family, wife and children. He attended Yorkwood Church of God, Gastonia. He loved to play the Wii with his son, enjoyed swimming, fishing, CB radio and any type of electronics. A funeral service will be held 4 pm on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Yorkwood Church of God, officiated by Pastor Joel Shirley, Pastor Rev. Bobby Smith, Pastor Chris Kennedy. The family will receive friends 6-8 on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. He is survived by: his wife, Brooke Evans of the home; children, Landon Matthew Evans and Aubrey Grace Evans of the home; mother and step-father, Donna and Steve Screws of Gastonia; father and step-mother, Steve and Vanita Evans of Kings Mountain; brothers, Jeffrey Steven Evans of Gastonia, David Stephen Screws of Gastonia; grandparents, Kay Fortner Davis, Bobbie Leagon both of Gastonia, Cleo and Fran Screws of Belmont; lifelong friend, Ashley Dean of Gastonia. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wylie Lee Owens, Leonard Evans and James Lamar Leagon. Memorials may be made to the Matthew Evans memorial fund for his children, c/o Brooke Evans, P. O.
