Matthew "Matt" Edward Hunt, 60, of Gastonia, passed away September 10, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1958 in Kingston, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Raymond Hughs Hunt and Jessie Poole Hunt.
Matt was a member of the Gaston Lodge #263 AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Dallas, NC. He enjoyed his work as a Ranlo Police Officer, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Hunt; sons, Matthew Hunt Jr. (Robbie), and Corey Hunt; daughter, Amanda Hunt; brothers, James and Raymond Hunt; sisters, Diana Abe, grandchildren, Madison, Lauren, and Layla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer "Jenny" Hunt; brother, Timothy Hunt and sister, Leslie Harkey.
A celebration of life service will be held 6:30 pm Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Ranlo Baptist Church, 1517 Spencer Mountain Rd, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Wentz.
