Matt Black

Matt Black, 50, of Gastonia, passed away July 23, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A Gaston County native, he was born June 16, 1971, son of the Robert Black and the late Diana Black.

Matt was an avid fisherman, an animal lover, and a master plumber who was employed with Massey Plumbing for over 20 years.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Black.

Left to cherish his memories, in addition to his father, are his significant other of 21 years, Ginger Long; son, Preston Black; brother, Brian Black and his significant other Debbie; grandmother, Mary Black; cousins, Phillip and Lance Black.

A graveside service will be held 3:00pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday, July 27, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
