Maryvene Ammons Goebel

Maryvene Ammons Goebel, 87, of Gastonia, NC, was promoted to Glory on Friday, May 20, 2022.

She was a native of Gaston Co., born July 6, 1934, to the late Jasper Steven Ammons, Sr., and Mary Emma Lowe Ammons.

Maryvene was a member of the Salvation Army Church, Gastonia, NC. She was also a member of the Salvation Army for 72 years, and former co-owner of Goebel's Luncheon Service.

In addition to her parents, Maryvene was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Goebel; and eight late brothers.

Maryvene is survived by her son, Steve Goebel; daughters, Susie Graf, Mary Carol Stephenson, Martha Howie, and Evangeline Johnston (Ken); seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service officiated by Major Susie Graf, will be held 2pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Salvation Army Church – 1506 Union Road, Gastonia, NC

Maryvene will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC
