Mary Jane Wyont Harbin, 88, of Sedelia Dr., Bessemer City, passed away on March 2, 2014 at the Health House, Lincolnton. She was born June 26, 1925 in Gaston County, to the late Henry David Wyont and Flossie Allran Wyont. Jane was a lifelong member of Puett United Methodist Church, Dallas. She graduated when high school stopped at the 11th grade. The next year they added a 12th grade and she returned to school to graduate again as part of the first 12th grade class at Tryon School. The family would like to express their love and gratitude to the staff of Heath House and Catawba Valley Regional Hospice. Both have been wonderful and have helped love and care for her these last few years. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at Puett United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Cliff Walls and her great niece Lynn Stubblefield. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be private. Jane is survived by: son, Dale Harbin and fiancé Dawn Fiore; daughter, Diane Ward and husband Philip all of Bessemer City; sister in-laws, Ruby Wyont of Bessemer City; Dot Harbin, Clara Self and husband Cone all of Gastonia; brother in- law, David "Bud" Harbin of Gastonia; grandchildren, Allison Harbin of Gastonia, Jodie Grose of Lincolnton, Chad Ward of Mt. Holly; great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, Ray Harbin, brothers, Howard, Wilford, Clyde and David Wyont; sisters, Ruth Mauney, Bonnie McMeans, and Margaret Baldwin.
