Mary "Janice" Wombough

Mary "Janice" Wombough, 68, of Leicester, NC, passed away November 16, 2018 at Mission Hospital.
She was born April 7, 1950 in Gaston County, the daughter of Juanita Setzer Spencer of Gastonia and the late Robert Gamewell Spencer.
Janice was a member of Little Sandy United Methodist Church in Leicester. She retired from NC Department of Corrections after 25 years of service. She loved to help others and volunteer at Beacon of Hope.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Spencer; husband, William Brian Wombough of 47 years; son, Ron Wombough of Lincolnton; daughter, Jacquelyn Sharpe of Leicester; brothers, Milton Spencer of Gastonia and Randy Spencer of Bessemer City; and grandchildren, Matthew Wombough, Autumn Wombough and Jackson Sharpe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jack Spencer Wombough and brothers, Gerald and Harry Spencer.
A graveside service, officiated by the Rev. Jimmy Galloway will be held 1 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Little Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Leicester Highway, Leicester, NC.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC
