Mary Frances Wilson Barnett

Mary Frances Wilson Barnett, 88, of Gastonia, passed away September 28, 2014 at Meadowwood Nursing Home in Gastonia. She was born January 21, 1926 native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Fred and Fannie Wilson. Mary was a life-long member of Union Presbyterian Church in Gastonia. She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary is survived by her loving husband of over 68 years, Wilson Barnett of the home; children, Fred Wilson Barnett, Thomas W. Barnett, Frances Barnett Parker; grandchildren, Brian, Dottie, Scott and Jennifer Barnett, Alicia Jordan, Robert, Sarah and Laura Parker; eight great-grandchildren; niece, Jane Boozer; nephews, Stephen and Charles Ratchford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Ratchford Shaw and daughter-in-law, Barbara Stancil Barnett. A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday at Union Presbyterian Church - 5615 Union Rd, Gastonia, officiated by the Reverend James Holeman. Visitation will be 12:30 - 2:15 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
