Mary Jo Smith

Mary Jo Smith, 90, of Gastonia, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021, at Peak Resources of Gastonia.

She was born on October 16, 1930, in Gaston County, to the late John and Blanche Smith Auten.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas, Kenneth, and Bill Auten; and sister, Nellie Smith.

Left to cherish Mary's memories are her sons, Allen Smith of Forest City and Gary Smith and wife Kathy of Clover; two grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, NC, 28052.

The family requests no flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
