Mary Elizabeth Reep, beloved grandmother, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born on October 24, 1943, in Catoosa, Georgia, she was the daughter of John and Mildred Campbell and grew up surrounded by love, laughter and a devotion to Christ.
Mary was known for her quick wit and fiery personality, always ready to offer a meal or a hug to her grandchildren. As a member of The Rock Church for over 50 years it was her strong faith and steadfast prayer life that is her legacy. She dedicated her life to her family showing unwavering strength and resourcefulness raising her three young children after the untimely passing of her husband Kenneth. While she held many roles as a professional it was her job as a crossing guard for the City of Belmont that brought her a sense of pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, John Campbell.
As a mother and grandmother, she was a source of unconditional love and support for her family. She is survived by her children, Garry Reep and (wife Rhonda), Jeanna Martin, Deborah Reep Thompson; grandchildren, Jessica Al-Shukoor (husband Haiden), Erika Martin, Brooke Richardson (husband Wyatt), Meredith Carpenter (husband Michael), Amber Adkins, and Blake Martin; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Russell, Michaela Adkins-Parker, Jamie Martin, Michael Adkins-Parker, Wyatt Richardson III, Selena Martin, Logan Richardson, Bryson Carpenter, and Oliver Al-Shukoor who will cherish her memory and the countless lessons she imparted; and sisters, Linda Campbell and Faye Dake.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at The Rock Church - 4432 Kings Mountain Hwy, Bessemer City, NC at 11am with the service to follow at 12pm. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC. Floral arrangements may be sent to Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052, up until Wednesday morning at 9am, after 9am please send them directly to the church.
Mary Elizabeth Reep will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
