Mary "Pete" Passmore Bridges

Mary "Pete" Passmore Bridges, 86, of Bessemer City, NC, passed away August 30, 2024, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born December 9, 1937, in Burke County, NC, to the late William Randolph and Edna Earl Kilpatrick Passmore.

Mary was a charter member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. Mary loved bowling and all of her bowling family. She loved her family and friends. She loved her fur babies and her dog Dottie.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John Patrick Bridges; daughter, Beverly Kay Herring; and sister, Sula Neal.

She is survived by her son, Pat Bridges and fiancé Debbie Dunlop; daughter, Jessica Calder (Stephen); and grandchildren, Mandi Bridges, Rusty Bridges, Amber Darby (Jeremy), Chris Herring (Emily), Dawson Calder (Alex), Thomas Calder, and Gracie Calder.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, 5:00-7:00 pm, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, NC.

A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, 618 Chestnut Ridge Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Pastor Greg Neely will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
