Mary Ellen Lamb Olvey

Mary Ellen Lamb Olvey, 87, of Gastonia, passed away on June 22, 2021, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.

She was born November 24, 1933, in Rogers County, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Robert Lamb and Woodie Johnson Evans.

She was a member of West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Mary was a very loving person and you always felt at home while visiting  with her.

A funeral service will be held  2:00 pm Saturday, June 26, 2021, at West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church 2145 West 5 ^th Avenue Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Richard Cole.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Mary is survived by her brother, Sheridan Evans Jr., and wife Debra; her sister, Margaret McFarland;  sister-in-law, Peggy Evans; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Olvey;  second husband, Boyce Meek; brothers, James Lamb, Delbert Lamb, Andy Evans, Sam Evans, Steve Evans, Dean Evans; sister, Diane Reed.
