Mary Elizabeth Huggins Thompson, 66, of Kings Mountain, passed away October 4, 2017 at her residence.
She was born August 8, 1951 in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Edgar Hoke Huggins and Margarite White Huggins.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Larry Thompson and wife Pamela, and Eric Thompson Sr. and wife Crystal; brothers Max Huggins and wife Linda, Roger Huggins and wife Shay, Mike Huggins and wife Frieda; grandchildren Erica Eaves and husband Kenny, Eric Thompson, Jr. and wife Patricia, Mandy Self and husband Mycal, Larry Thompson and wife Kayla, Marcus and Derrick Thompson, Jessica, Tina, Nikki and David Thompson; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert David Thompson, Sr.; son, Robert David Thompson, Jr. and brothers Bit, Graham, Reid and Charles Huggins.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Long Creek Cemetery, Dallas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary Thompson Memorial Fund, In c/o Eric Thompson231 Henderson Drive, Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
