Mary Lou Heffner

Mary Lou Hooks Heffner, 54, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 23, 2014 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill, SC. She was born February 25, 1960 in Florida, daughter of the late Jack Emerson Hooks and Elizabeth Champion Hooks and the daughter -in-law of the late Martha Jean Cantrell. Mary Lou was a loving wife, best sister anyone could ask for, more like a sister than a sister-in-law, a wonderful Aunt, who was kindhearted, sweet, and fun loving. She enjoyed spending time in the mountains and taking cruises. She was an avid reader. A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia officiated by the Revs. Billy Ray Wooten and Lamar Boulware. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Left to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 22 years, Steve Heffner; sisters, Renee Hooks Williams and husband Curtis ; Kay Hooks Jarrett and husband Tony, all of Gastonia; father-in-law, Bob Heffner of Gastonia; brother-in-law, Craig Heffner and wife Renee' of Cherryville; sisters-in-law, Kathy Spencer and husband Chris of Bessemer City, Tracie Brafford and husband Reid of Gastonia; five nieces; seven nephews; four great nieces; two great nephews; numerous aunts and uncles.
