I t is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Marlow Greene, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend, who left us peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 5, 1951, in Madison County, Georgia, Mary was a resident of Bessemer City, North Carolina, where she was a cherished member of the community.
Mary was a godly woman who was very passionate about her love for her Lord and Savior and was always willing to share her faith with others and devoted her time helping others. She was always willing to help others without expecting anything in return.
She loved to spend time with her precious loved ones and was the backbone of her family. Everyone who met her instantly loved her because of her kind heart.
Her family will carry her love and legacy in their hearts forever and she will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her sons, Christopher Greene and Ronnie Greene (Gina); her brother, Randolph Marlow; her sister, Susan Parsons (Larry) daughter-in-law, Sam Neal,(Johnny); grandchildren Ronnie James Greene (Erica), Kennedy Leatherwood (Ty), Lilly Greene, Donovan Greene (Marlee), Sonia Carpenter (David), Chloe Neal, Aaron Turner (Jackie), Logan Turner, great-grandchildren Abel Greene, Keira Greene, Easton Turner, River Reep, Lettie Carpenter.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Marlow and Sarah Sorrow Marlow, her son, Donovan Shane Greene, and granddaughter Kristin Greene.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Dr. Thomas Hovis.
The burial will be at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday, January 24, 2025, at the funeral home.
