Mary Lee Ervin

Gastonia, NC Mary Lee Ervin, 84, passed away September 19, 2013 at her home. She was born November 2, 1928 in Gastonia, daughter of the late Emory Roosevelt Hardin Sr. and Elsie Landis Hardin. Mrs. Ervin was a life long member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church, Gastonia. She worked as a par-legal and volunteered for the Literacy Council. A funeral service will be held 3 pm on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Steve Hensley. The family will receive friends 2-3 pm on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will be at Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. She is survived by: her children, Jeanne Hauser and her spouse, Dewitt of Sharpsburg, GA, James Ervin and his spouse, Saundra of Commerce, GA, Eileen Rogers and her spouse, Greg of Hickory, Jeff Ervin and his spouse, Heather of Santa Clarita, CA; grandchildren, Sara Ervin, Christopher Ervin, Regina Martin, Alison Merk and spouse, Phillip, Justin Martin, Clint Hauser and spouse, Nicole, Ashlee Cooper and spouse, Johnny, Amanda Hauser, Lindsey Rogers, Adam Rogers, Zachary Ervin, Maisy Ervin; eight great grandchildren; sister in-law, Carol Ervin of TX. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Ray Ervin; brother, Emory Roosevelt Hardin Jr.; sisters, Fannie Reagan and Frances Hardin.
