Mary Ann Cook, 59, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015 at her Georgia Mansion. She was born October 27, 1956 in Surry County, daughter of the late Posie Pell Pack and Ruth Guy Pack. Mary Ann was a member of The Refuge of Clover. She enjoyed deer hunting, her church and cruising the dirt roads in Georgia. She loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed. The family wishes to say a special thank you to her hospice nurse, Runa. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 43 years, Lester Cook Jr.; sons, Shorty Cook and Clayton Cook and wife, Brandi; daughters, Joy Cook and Leigh Rash and husband Josh; brother, Bill Pack; sister, Nancy Childress; grandchildren, Les Cook, Brittney and Justin Hoffman, Samantha Rash, Meredith Cook and Luke Rash; mother-in-law Sue Cook; a number of nieces and nephews; devoted friend, Everette McDonald and special niece, Tammy Childress that was also her caregiver. The family will receive friends 10 am – 6 pm Saturday and 1 – 3 pm Sunday at 320 Cooks Lake Rd., Gastonia. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Gaston County, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28052.
