Mary Sue Connor

Mary Sue Conner, 90, of Gastonia, North Carolina passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Brookdale Senior Living.

She was born May 2, 1932, in Gaston Co. to the late Oscar and Ollie Crook.

Sue was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Sue enjoyed "Little Debbie cakes" and playing bingo at Brookdale. They also have displayed many puzzles she has put together over the years. Above all, Sue loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Whitesides and Clyde Connor, daughter, Penny Moss, grandson, Kevin Connor, several brothers and sisters.

Sue is survived by her sons; Donnie Whitesides (Carolyn), Lewis Connor (Lorraine), John Connor (Kathy), brother, Dale Crook (Geraldine), eight grandchildren; Mike Connor (Lora), Eric Connor, Tonya Westmoreland (Brian), Michael Whitesides (Deena), Perry Spivey (Tammy), Jason Connor (Jill), Wesley Spivey (Heather), Clay Connor (Meredith), nineteen great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Steve Black will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service at 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
