Mary Ann Clemmer

Mary Ann Clemmer was a grande old Southern belle. She liked to tell people she was from the north, North Carolina that is! On March 8, 2022, at age 83, Mary Ann Clemmer was surrounded by three lovely granddaughters as she passed on.  As a wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, she spent life in service to her family and community.  Her grandchildren knew her as Mimi Hen and they were all her "chickadees." She loved letter writing, needlepoint, crafting, puzzles, and trivia. Mary Ann will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her charisma, and her sparkling smile.

She is survived by her son Marvin Clemmer and daughter in law Mary Clemmer, her son Stan Hope Clemmer and daughter in law Kristi Clemmer; her grandchildren Rachel Mackessy-Lloyd, Kathryn Clemmer, Daniel Clemmer, Jeanne Clemmer, Hieu Dai, Thao Dai, Colleen Dai, Stanley Dai, and Faithanne Clemmer, and her great grandchildren Noah, Claire, Ethan Mackessy-Lloyd and Addison Clemmer will remember her always.

In addition to her parents, Ralph Suggs and Catherine Sparrow Suggs, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Brice Clemmer; son, David Bryce Clemmer; daughter in law, Denise Blanton Clemmer; brothers, Robert and Larry Suggs.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 am Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Pisgah ARP Church 3600 Linwood Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Richard Lewis.

The family will receive friends 10-11 prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
