Mary Lynn Champion

Mary Lynn Champion, 93, of Kings Mountain, passed away September 5,2012 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born January 31, 1919 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Newman Thomas and Tressie Flum Lynn. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Carson Memorial Baptist Church, 262 Sparrow Springs Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086, officiated by Revs. David Patrick, Chris Wilson, and Dennis Badger. The family will receive friends 1:00 -3:00 pm Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. Champion was a charter member of Carson Memorial Baptist Church with a perfect attendance for 52 years. She is survived by: her 2 step-sons; 1 step- daughter; brother, Percy Lynn; sisters, Betty Lutz, Barbara Bohannon; 35 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband, Bill Champion; brothers, John Lynn, Bill Lynn; sisters, Macie Champion, Annie Bell Huffstetler. Memorials may be made to the Robin Johnson House, 5005 Sheppards Way Dr. Dallas, NC 28034 or Carson Memorial Missions, 262 Sparrow Springs Rd. Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
