Mary Lucille Alexander Pardue

Lucille Alexander Pardue, 98, went to be with Jesus on November 21, 2021.  Lucille was a native of Elkin, NC, born December 26,1922.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Carl Pardue, her parents, Charlie and Flora Alexander, her siblings, Frances Edwards, Verna Brown and Bud Alexander, and one grandchild, Mark.  She is survived by her children, Ginny Skarpalezos (Charles), Andy Pardue (Sandra), and Margaret Gasperson (George).  She had 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Lucille was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Gastonia for over 55 years, serving in the nursery during Sunday School and singing in the choir during worship services.  Lucille was proud to be the oldest member of the New Hope congregation.

Lucille enjoyed staying in touch with her friends and family.  No matter how old they were or how far away they lived, she made it a point to stay connected through a phone call, card or letter.  Lucille also loved to laugh!  Her joy and laughter always lit up the room.  Her headstone will be engraved with "Spreading laughter in heaven!"

Lucille spent her last years at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living Center in Gastonia, NC.  The family would like to especially thank Ivy, Tammy, Emma and the wonderful staff at Terrace Ridge, who treated our Mom like she was their own family.

The Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, December 4 ^th at 11:00 AM, New Hope Baptist Church, 2024 Redbud Drive, Gastonia, NC, with the family receiving friends one hour before the service.  Dr. Brandon McKoy and Rev. George Gasperson will be officiating.  There will be a private interment in Ronda, NC.
