Marvin Clinton Brooks Jr., 74 of Gastonia, North Carolina, passed away on August 23, 2024, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 20, 1950, in North Carolina, Marvin dedicated his life to his work as a supply clerk in the knitting textiles industry. Throughout his career, he worked at Ithaca, where his commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on his colleagues.

Marvin was a proud North Carolina Tarheels fan and could often be found cheering them on while watching sports on television. In his free time, he cherished moments spent with his beloved wife, Dorothy Brooks, and their grandchildren, especially enjoying motorcycle rides with them. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memories, sisters, Ruth Ann Sisk, Betty Ballew, and Linda Brooks; grandchildren, Nick Hudson, Justin Hudson, and Cailyn Campbell; great grandchildren, Ryan Hudson, Aiden Hudson, Aubrey Hudson and Jeremiah Hudson; son in law, Anthony Black; many other relatives and friends.

A high school graduate, Marvin valued education and was always eager to learn. His dedication to his family and his work were unparalleled, leaving a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service to honor Marvin's memory will be held at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 1, 2024, officiated by Reverend Cameron Bryson.

Marvin will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and love. In his memory, may we find comfort in the cherished moments we shared with him and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Marvin Brooks Sr. and Ruth Howard Estes; daughter, Shelly Black; siblings, Gary Brooks, Steve Brooks, Mary Cody and Linda.
