Martha Palmore

May 17, 1937 — December 7, 2025

Martha Mitchem Palmore, of Cherryville, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on May 17, 1937, in Bladen County, NC. Martha led a life rich in love, service, and joy. A devoted member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia, she touched many lives through her commitment to teaching children's church and her beautiful voice in the choir.

Martha was a nurturing soul who dedicated herself to fostering children, providing them with a safe and loving home. Her family was the heart of her existence; she relished every moment spent with them, sharing laughter, wisdom, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

In her spare time, Martha found joy in various hobbies that showcased her creativity and dedication. She was an avid genealogist, delving into her family history with passion. Her artistic talents came to life through her love of cross-stitching and quilting, reading and writing poetry and she found solace in nurturing her garden, bringing beauty to her yard.

Martha's spirit was one of generosity and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. As we celebrate her life, let us remember the laughter, the lessons, and the love that she shared so freely.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Johnny Yarbro.

We encourage those whose lives were touched by Martha to join us in celebrating her remarkable journey and the beautiful impact she made in our lives. May her spirit continue to inspire us as we carry her love forward.
