Marshall Albert Bohannon Sr.

Marshall Albert Bohannon Sr., 84, of Kings Mountain, passed away on May 19, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born August 6, 1929 in Gaston County, son of the late Charles Albert Bohannon and Mamie Mullinax Bohannon Ford. Mr. Bohannon was a member of Carson Memorial Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge # 339 in Kings Mountain. He was retired from the US Marine Corp after 22 years of service. A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Friday at Carson Memorial Baptist Church, 262 Sparrow Springs Rd., Kings Mountain officiated by Pastor Chris Wilson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be private. Mr. Bohannon is survived by: his loving wife of 20 years, Barbara Lynn Bohannon; sons, Marshall "Marty" Bohannon Jr. and Terry Bohannon both of Richmond, VA; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Souders (Wilbur) of Gray, GA; brother, Jerry Ford of Orange Park, FL; sisters, Lula Ford Revis , Verla Ford Hill, both of Kings Mountain,; grandchildren, Aaron Souders (Christine) of Jacksonville, FL, Christy Shurley (Chris) of Gray , GA,; great grandchild, Milaina Souders; special friends, Jenny and Jackie Causby of Kings Mountain. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: stepfather, Harvey Ford; brother, J.C. Mullinax; sister, Alice Ford Carpenter In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Carson Memorial Baptist Church, 262 Sparrow Springs Rd., Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
