Marlene Goodman Harris

Marlene Goodman Harris, 83, of Bessemer City, passed away September 4, 2022, at her residence.

She was born June 24, 1939, in Gaston County to the late Ralph James and Edna Ledford Goodman.

Marlene was a 1959 graduate of Ashley High School. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a certified cosmetologist and a former substitute teacher for Bessemer City Schools.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Franklin "Andy" Harris, sons; Franklin A. Harris II, Mark Harris (Tracy), daughters; Kim Leagon (Bill), Sandra Harris, brother, Clyde Goodman (Margie), sister, Gerry Broome four grandchildren; Heath Leagon (Lindsey), Caleb Leagon, Chandler Harris, and Owen Harris.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Chris Parker will be held Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday September 7, 2022, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
