Mark Irvin Willingham

Mark Irvin Willingham, born in Charlotte NC on 9-11-1960, left us too soon on February 15th, 2025. "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" was certainly true of Mark. His job as an independent field adjuster took him all across our beautiful country after floods, hurricanes, tornadoes and wind had damaged property. His greatest joy, in his words, "I have to make sure all the insureds are taken care of."

His love of adventure, diving, photography, music-and of course, wine- led him all over the world. From exploring Southeast Asia to diving the crystal blue waters of Belize to hiking in the Swiss Alps, he lived a rich and rewarding life. It truly was about the journey for him. Sadly, cancer took his last dream of retiring to sail the seas on his Vagabond 47.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles, his mother Grace and oldest brother Thomas. He is survived by his sister MaryAnne, her husband Greg, nephews Terry and Trevor and brother Chuck. He also leaves behind his partner Sharon, his devoted dog Buddreaux and a legion of friends he gathered throughout his travels. His, bigger than life, personality and heart will be forever missed. Although there will be no public service, Mark's remains will be returned to his beloved sea in the future.
