Mark Andrew Merrington

Mark Andrew Merrington, 49, of Gastonia, passed away on September 16, 2021, at Atrium Health Cleveland, Shelby.

He was born November 13, 1971, in Gaston County, son of Bobby John Merrington and the late Barbara Hanna Merrington.

Mark was employed by FedEx Freight for more than twenty-four years.

He loved riding his Harley and working on cars, but most of all spending time with his loving family.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Roger Mathis.

The family will receive friends 7 – 9 pm Friday, September 24, at the funeral home.

In addition to his father, Bobby Merrington, Mark is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Amy Merrington; sons, Zack Merrington, Matthew Merrington; brother, Michael Merrington (Casey); nieces Michelle Wright, Hanna Merrington; nephew, Chancellor Merrington; and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105.
