Mark Craig Alexander, 66, of Bessemer City, beloved husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 3, 2021.
Mark will be missed beyond belief. Those who knew Mark know that he is doing "fantastic" in
Heaven.
Mark was born on June 5, 1955, to the late George and Virginia Alexander. Mark was the
owner of Ball's Grill and Produce in Gastonia, North Carolina, and a proud member of Victory
Hill Baptist Church in Dallas, North Carolina. Mark was happiest when traveling and spending
time with his family. He will be remembered for his love of God and family and his zest for life.
Mark was a friend to all and someone who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice Martin Alexander; children Daniel
Alexander and wife Rachel, Shonda Duvall and husband Bobby, Wendy Cheek and husband Jay,
Danelle Dixon and husband JR; grandchildren Justin Duvall and wife Karrie, Ethan Duvall,
Abigail Cheek, Nathaniel Cheek, Emma Dixon, Maleiya Dixon, and Dylan Alexander; great-
grandchild Raylee Duvall; and brother Bill Alexander and wife Pansi. Mark was preceded in
death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 11, 2021, outside by
the pond behind City Church (formerly Bethlehem Church), 3100 City Church Street. There will
be a service immediately following at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Sandy Bozeman with a
special message from Justin Duvall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made in his name to
the Crisis Pregnancy Center, 700 Robinson Rd, Gastonia, NC, 28056.
