Marilyn Hamilton, 73, of Lincolnton, passed away August 7, 2018 at Heath House.
She was born September 2, 1944 in Gaston County, the daughter of the late James Martie Briggs and Guinn Ledford Briggs.
Marilyn attended Gaston County Schools.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Lanier; brother, Coy Briggs; sister, Dorothy "Dot" Hall; and nieces and nephews, Chuck, Tim, Steve, Lorrie, Chip, Dale, Mike, Darrell, Phyllis, Ricky, Jeff, Dana, Guinn and Cindy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Eugene Hamilton; sisters, Ruth Keller and Linda Costner; brothers, Jimmy and Ralph Briggs.
A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Danielle Hammett, will be held 10 am Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Armstrong Cemetery on Osceola Street, Gastonia.
Following the service, a meal and time of fellowship will be held at Lowell Smyre United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main Street in Lowell.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
