Marie Lance Rowland

Gastonia, NC - Marie Lance Rowland, 104, of Gastonia, passed away June 3, 2014 at Gastonia Rehab & Health Center. She was born, October 14, 1909 in Cherokee County, daughter of the late, Ernest and Martha Jane Lance. She was a member of Beech Avenue Baptist Church for over 70 years. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 5521 NC Hwy 141, Marble, NC, officiated by Pastor Homer Wilson. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel. Marie is survived by: sons, Virgil and Randall Rowland; daughter, Murline McCarter; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah A. Rowland, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
